This is the most simple and the most basic drape. It’s the straight pallu drape. Here you drape the saree in a back pallu drape and then keep the pallu open, resting on your arm. Most cotton fabrics, if not stiffened with starch, will rest as it is on the arm in an open pallu drape. Whether you’re exploring different cotton saree draping styles or opting for a classic and timeless look, the straight pallu drape showcases the inherent grace of cotton sarees. The pleated drape is one of the most prettiest and clean look you can get with a cotton saree. Here you peat the pallu in broad pleats and pin it at the shoulder. The trick to perfect pleats is to first pleat the pallu and pin it and later drape the bottom part of saree.  

In case of any excess material you can tuck it in the back with a pin so that the pallu remains in tact. This is how you can drape a cotton saree without any help. Most cotton sarees online are mul cotton sarees draping that has a soft fabric and can be pleated nicely and easily.
