Spring Summer fashion essentials – Bohemian Summer Dress with Pompom tie-up Sandals
Summers can never be complete without a cute white summer dress. How about we add the latest fad of pompoms to it? A killing combination right? Well, Today’s Outfit of the day is just that! An off-shoulder embroidered Summer dress with pompom tie-up sandals and lot of swag! This shoot was done last summer when Pompom tie-ups had just landed the fashion scene and I had gotten so swooned by them that I ordered these babies from Aliexpress (they were not available in local stores that time!) However due to my on and off health I could not keep up with posting the pictures then and before I knew it it was Winters and I had to wait for the next year. Nevertheless, looking at how pompoms are still trending so hot even this summer I can only bless my stars for that. So without much do, lets get started with two of the hottest fashion trends of spring summer 2018 – The Bohemian & the White!
How to style pompom sandals with your Summer Dress?
One of the major style tip while wearing bright quirky sandals is to always make sure you pair it up with a simple outfit and white is a great option. Moreover, a white summer dress is a must-have for this season. Be it Coachella or Street style, Summers and Bohemian go hand in hand. The Frills, the bell sleeves, embroidery pattern, patches, ethnic motifs, asymmetric hemlines, the boho jewellery every thing shouts out Summer fashion trends of 2018. Which is why a fusion of your summer dress with bohemian accessories gives a great tweak to your outfit.
Styling your summer dress
Here I have paired my embroidered white dress (well not actually dress, this is an old top converted to an off-shoulder short dress :D) with pompom jewellery and pompom tie-ups and fun reflectors. The fact that the embroidery of my dress is matching so strikingly with my colorful sandals is a happy coincidence. Styling a Summer dress is pretty simple actually. All you have to do is either stay minimalist or go totally overboard, there is no middle ground here! Seriously.
The history of this outfit goes back to 2012. Yes this dress aka top is that old. It is also double my current size which makes it a great breezy outfit for summers currently. It came with a thread belt that could cinch up the waist to create a ruffled bottom layer for the top and a deep U neck with elastic that can be broadened easily into an off-shoulder or no-shoulder dress. I have removed the belt thread out to convert it into a short dress.
The ethnic kashmiri embroidery on it gives the necessary boho feel to this outfit. To compensate the empty neck of the off-shoulder style, I have doubled up my pompom chain to give a necklace look. These fur balls make up for a great statement accessory and that I am using two of them together here is because I am aiming for a certain gypsy girl look.
Do not forget to observe how I have tried to go all matchy matchy with the pompom thing, matching it up with a ehtnic pompom bracelet. However I do like the earlier, no bracelet look better.
This Cotton dress more than makes up for the rising temperature outside with its breezy fit its become one of my favorite outfit for Summer season.
Summer Makeup details
For the makeup, I have done pink and orange dual eye-shadow with a jet black eyeliner and a black kajal on the waterline. The eye-shadow palette used is sleek in i-snapshots. Keeping the focus on eyes I have underdone the lips here with just a plum lip gloss. Its best not to use too much of foundation or concealing if you are going out in hot weather as everything starts becoming greasy once perspiration sets in. Thus I have just applied some loose compact.
