Bhairavi Jaikishan’s Traditional Fashion at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2012- Day 4
Designer Bhairavi Jaikishan presented a wonderful collection of Ornate Traditional wear at the Day-4 of Lakme Fashion Week 2012. The collection named as ” A Wonderful World” was focused on Cocktail, evening and Bridal wear with Ornate sarees, Lehengas and Lehenga-sarees, (Bhairavi’s speciality) creating a world of intricate techniques, colours and flattering silhouettes. Bhairavi chose rich shades of colours like black, nude, ivory, mustard, emerald, midnight blue, aubergine, shocking pink, red and burgundy bringing a colorful Ornate World live on the ramp!
Showcasing her rich Ornate Collection, Bharavi explains, “My collection is based on evening cocktail wear. It is not only traditional, it is young and stylised. I have used deeper colours like midnight blue, ivory, mustard, burgundy and black for the first time. I usually stick to pastels,”
The silhouettes were traditionally classic and elegant with dramatic eye-catching necklines that almost resembled jewelled neckpieces. Bhairavi used Net as her preferred choice of material with detailing in form of scalloped sequin borders for saris and badla work for the lining and lehengas. The Choli’s look elegant and ornate with floral embellishments and motif’s based on roses, flowers and diamond shapes.
“The lehenga-sari is very interesting. It has the style of a lehenga with the grace of the traditional sari,” explained Bhairavi telling to a Newschannel in an Interview.”All my blouses have high embellished necklines which omits the need to wear any jewelled neck pieces with the outfit,” the designer added.
In all her Collection was Ornate and Elegant with touch of Gold and Silver embroidery and Beautiful flowers bringing in a ray of Bright colours to the ramp..
