Fashion Restyle is a topic close to my heart for reasons well known. Being an Environmentalist I am all about reusing old clothes and versatile styling. In fact, documenting my outfits has made me realize, I have a wardrobe full of clothes I hardly utilize. (Not a fact many women would want to confess, but its true for most of us!) This New Year’s, I made a pact with myself to reuse my old clothes as much as possible by restyling the same outfit differently. Be it a casual day, a prayer meet or a Wedding function, I have vowed to assemble new looks from my existing wardrobe. To restyle old clothes in new unique ways. Also, looking at the current trend of sustainable clothing, it is pretty evident that Versatile fashion is the way to go!

Different ways to style your cotton saree
When it comes to Versatile fashion and reusing old clothes, a Saree outruns all. Saree is one such garment that can be worn for generations together. Here are Seven different ways I revived this old cotton saree of my Grand-mom. The first one being styling it with a statement bell sleeve Blouse with Kalamkari print.

One of the most simplest ways to restyle old clothes and give a new look is to accessorize stylishly. Here I have done a simple drape of the same saree with a contrasting black blouse and accessorized with pearl jhumkas and a kundan pearl chokar set. Just the accessories and the makeup completely change the look of the simple saree into Glam!

Yet another one of my Kurta Saree look has the Kurta tied in a knot making into a funky crop top Blouse. Changing the drape of your saree into different stylish drapes also changes your look completely. Here I have done the front Pallu drape to give the Cotton Saree a stylish revive.

Just like Kurta Saree, Accessorizing your old Saree with a trendy Jacket or Trench Coat makes up for a stylish new look. Here I have restyled my old Cotton Saree with this Bell Sleeve Jacket from one of my other outfit to create a completely new look. The Jacket Saree is one of the most loved trends of Bollywood Celebrities and has been spotted even at Cannes.

Fashion Restyle – Skirt as Blouse
Changing your look is not as challenging if you put in your creativity in. You can wear the same outfit over and over again without feeling bored of it. Tying your Saree up in a knot can give it a completely rugged and stylish look. Also pairing it with crop tops, spaghetti tops, halter neck blouses can make your saree look completely different. I have used my wrap around skirt here to make a halter neck blouse for this look. This is how you can reuse an old skirt as saree Blouse. This serves two purpose, reusing your old skirt and restyling your old saree to create new look.

Fashion Restyle – Skirt into Blouse
Another way to reuse an old wrap around skirt is to make a kaftan out of it. This is a kaftan style blouse that I have worn with my cotton saree to convert into a dramatic look. This way I revived not only my old saree but also renewed my old skirt into a kaftan blouse.
