Indian fashion blogger – Republic day ootd & Makeup
Republic Day used to be such a huge thing when we were in School. Waking up to the amazing patriotic songs in society and rushing to school later for flag hoisting ceremony. Only to come back and attend another one in the society with cultural programs that remind us of the freedom struggle our forefathers went through. Wearing the tricolour dresses and mocking the Republic day parade.
Its 2019, and I really miss those school days. Nowadays, hearing National anthem at movies is the closest I get to patriotism. We do have a community get together and flag hoisting but I somehow feel that the zest for the nation is not the same anymore. The undying love for the nation and unadulterated passion is somehow hazed with the technology coming in.
So today being Republic day and I being an Indian fashion blogger, decided to revive some of those days by going for a Republic Day outfit ddedicated to the Indian flag. I honestly believe that our patriotism should not be limited to these two days of the year that is republic day and Independence day. This is a Republic day Tricolour Dress and Makeup look that I donned today for republic day celebrations in community. I also plan to do a few things for nation this year starting from following my norm of reduce, reuse and recycle as much as possible. The world needs less of our garbage and more of our love and so does the nation. Lets move on to my Republic Day Tricolour Outfit and Makeup for today.
Following the trend of reuse, I have put to-gather this Green, White and Orange outfit from my existing Wardrobe. The plain Green Kurta is almost 10 years old from the days of Jab We Met. This short Kurta had a floral patiala salwar and a matching floral dupatta in Red and Green. I have been utilizing this kurta all along because of its solid colour and since now patiala salwars are kinda making a comeback I am planning to use them with some other kurti and revive the whole outfit.
The White chikankari palazzo pants are again a few years old. And the orange dupatta is from another dress. This whole thing combined makes up for a simple yet beautiful tricolor outfit for Republic Day.
This same dress with a different accessories can be worn on Independence day as well. So I am sorted for both these patriotic days of the year.
I love how this dress gives beautiful ethnic vibes to me. I have completed the look with embroidered jutti from Rajasthan and a Republic day special Makeup.
Here is the detailed break up of my Republic Day special Makeup. Its a tricolour eye makeup using vibrant shades like orange and green on the eyelid and defining the look with a white eye liner.
Reminiscing the ashoka chakra I have used a navy blue kajal on my waterline and completed the makeup with orange lip shade from makeup Revolution. The complete details of the palette used are mentioned below.
I have not taken a video of this look so I would not be able to give makeup tutorial, but do let me know in the comments below how you liked my tri-colour makeup and if you would like me to do a detailed makeup tutorial of this look .
