Statement Slit Sleeve dramatic white gown perfect for Sangeet ceremony
These days wedding season is on full swing! And the kinda bollywood freaks that we Indians are, none of our fat Indian weddings are complete without a full fledged desi “Sangeet Ceremony” where everyone from the toddlers to the Aunties are seen shaking their bums to the catchy Bollywood songs! Well, along with its fanfare, Sangeet sure is the most awaited event for all the guests attending the Wedding. And so is the Sangeet Outfit! If you follow my stories on Instagram, you would know that I recently attended one of my closest friend’s wedding and the Sangeet ceremony itself was grand enough to be called as Reception. The biggest hassle we all friend’s faced was to decide upon a proper outfit for the the Sangeet Ceremony.
Since all of us friends were going to dance on the stage we wanted something that we could carry off easily as well as something that was elaborate enough to be worn for Sangeet. On the look out for my perfect Sangeet outfit for my friends wedding, I finally zeroed in on something that I already had sitting in my wardrobe since quite some time. My dramatic slit sleeve white gown with a zardosi patchwork. Its a self designed White umbrella cut gown cum Salwar-suit with Statement sleeves that I can pair with or without dupatta depending on the occasion. The best thing about this gown was that I could easily dance and twirl in this Sangeet outfit and I didn’t even need to wear heels. The fact that this gown can be styled in two different ways was a plus.
Here I have styled my Slit sleeve gown as it is with an updo and pearl studs. Nothing much to rave about, I just decided for the dress to do all the talking. A perfect Sangeet outfit to stand out amongst the crowd.
Another way to style this classic Sangeet outfit was to add some pop colour to it. Adhering to the occasion I decided to add pop pink and red Bandhani dupatta to the White gown and turn it into a traditional attire.
White is a lovely colour for sangeet and you can add a contrasting dupatta to add some glamour to your dance night. This is my simple yet elegant Sangeet look.
