My Haldi ceremony outfit and other stylish wedding outfit inspirations – What I wore for Haldi 2018
This year I had back to back two family weddings, one of my Brother in law and other my Sister, where I played the role of a sister of Bridegroom and Sister of the Bride respectively. This involved a lot of shopping, a lot of planning, a lot of my time was given over the nitty gritty’s of the functions and finally that the last of both important weddings is over, I can now take a break and write a blog about it. So here is my first blog on what I wore at the Haldi ceremony of both the weddings. Mostly the brides prefer wearing a yellow saree or a light lehenga for their haldi ceremony. Being the sister of the bride means that your outfit should be subtle, less dramatic than the bride’s and yet should stand out. Here are some exquisite outfit ideas for haldi ceremony of 2018 weddings.
Dhoti Saree
When the bride is wearing a saree, you might as well wear one with a twist. A dhoti saree is your best bet for a stand out unique haldi outfit that gives you space for running around.
Simple Yellow Dress with Heavy dupatta
This is what I wore for my brother in law’s haldi ceremony. A simple lemon yellow gota patti work dress with a pink leheriya dupatta. You can also use a more ethnic phulkari or bandhani dupatta to go with the outfit.
Dress lehenga for Haldi
For my sister’s wedding I turned one of my bandhani dresses into a lehenga by pairing a contrast pink skirt (ghagra) with the straight fit kameez and an ethnic dupatta. You can turn any of your simple dresses into a function outfit by pairing them with a ghagra or sharara instead of simple pants.
Crop top lehenga
While you are at it, you can surely try to twin with your sister wearing a similar yet sublte crop top lehenga for her haldi. You can either go in the colours of haldi of lemon and mustard yellow or you can use a combination of mint green and yellow. Looks oh-so-elegant, trust me!
Yellow shirt lehenga or shirt skirt
Go a little edgy by pairing a white shirt with a ethnic yellow skirt or lehenga for the haldi ceremony. You are sure to turn some heads and this outfit will keep you ready on your toes all the times with no effort at all.
Dhoti Kurta
Move over dhoti saree, Dhoti pants are here! Pair a peplum kurta with dhoti pants in shades of yellow and you are ready to rock the haldi ceremony in swag!
Yellow Pant suit
Pakistani cigarette pant suits have got real popular these days and if you want to get a little trendy, nothing like donning a yellow pant suit kurta for the haldi ceremony.
Fancy white kurta with yellow dupatta
Chuck the norm and go white for the pithi ceremony. Wear a fancy white kurta with bell sleeves and don a simple haldi colour dupatta and you are ready to rock the haldi ceremony for 2018.
Cape Dress for Haldi
Wear a beautiful cape dress to the next haldi ceremony you are visiting and set all eyes on yourself just like our blogger here.
Slit Kurta
Another Blogger inspired haldi ceremony outfit is this slit kurta in yellow on a white skirt. Very simple, very beautiful and totally trendy. It will surely make you stand out of the crowd at your sisters haldi ceremony.
So all you sisters of the bride or bridegroom out there looking for outfit inspirations for the upcoming haldi ceremony, I hope you have abundant ideas already your way from this post. Start curating your outfit already 🙂
