Natural Summer Skincare Routine with Degya Organics

Summer is here and before my skin turns dry, I decided to start my skin care routine this year, and voilla, I found Degya organics on my block. I thought to create a step by step and quick skincare regime from natural products obviously because of my sensitive skin from their amazing range of paraben free, sls free and cruelty free products. So here are four simple yet very important products that I am going to review for my summer skincare.

Natural Skincare Routine

Cleansing – Shea Saffron Bath Bar

First up is the Shea Saffron Bath bar, that is handmade and is touted to counteract skin damage caused due to pollution and harmful UV rays. It is also said to soothe irritated skin and provide a healthy glow. Here are my first impressions of the soap.

Packaging – The soap came in a really environmentally friendly packaging that is a drawstring cotton bag. I like the idea however I would like a little paper of instructions/ ingredients that was missing with the soap. So the only information I had was from their website mentioned.

Texture – The soap is a big rectangle bar with quite sharp edges but a smooth texture. The bar is a bit big for my hands and I would prefer a smaller or more shapy bar that can easily glide on the body.

Results – The bar produces good amount of lather and smells like milk and saffron. It leaves my skin nourished, smooth and supple after every wash. However I still do not know how much it works on the UV protection as I have not been much out and about due to COVID. I will be later updating you all on that for sure.

All in all I like the results of the soap, I would give it a 3/4 stars.

Exfoliating – Degya body scrub

The Degya body scrub was  a surprise element for me. I ordered the body scrub considering it to be the second step of skin exfoliation but what came was a very powdery version that felt like an ubtan when applied on skin. Initially I was quite skeptical about it but when I saw the results, I quite liked the scrub or ubtan 🙂

Packaging: It came in a glass bottle. That had sand like gritty dry powder. When mixed with water it turns into an ubtan like paste. It is made with pomegranate and papaya, our scrub helps remove dead, reduce blackheads, lighten tan and remove impurities.

Result: After scrub the skin feels deeply exfoliated, smooth and supple. In the 15 days that I used I could also see a bit of change in pigmentation. I would totally give this one a 4/5. Only cons would be the texture. I would really prefer a smooth paste format.

Healing – Turmeric Mask

The golden mask is touted to be having antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties help rejuvenate skin. It is also said to improve the collagen activity in skin.

The mask again came in a consistancy of pulp. It felt healing but left a bit of yellow tingue on the face due to turmeric, which I did not like much. It did make the skin glow after wash. I would give it a 4/5 stars.

Eyebrow Growth Oil-

I know I should have ended with a serum but since I have combination skin I prefer a very light moisturizer. So I decided to review the eyebrow growth oil instead.

Offlate I have been experiencing thinning of brows and I wanted to see if this worked. What happened was that after a few application I started getting oily bumps on my forehead. For now I am using it weekly. So far I have not noticed any major difference in the hair growth but my brows seem to have darkened a bit. I will update on the growth. The oil has ricinoleic to make eyebrows grow thicker and healthier. I think I would give it a 3/5 due to the oils that irritates my already oily sensitive skin.
