Outfit Reuse and Recycle – Use your old wrap around skirt into a poncho and halter neck Saree Blouse!
Yes I am back with yet another restyle post. This is about an old wrap around skirt that I restyled as a Saree Blouse for my Cotton Saree that I have been blogging about lately. So this time around I wanted a casual look for my Cotton Saree so I decided to make a poncho Blouse and an halterneck blouse out of my wrap-around skirt to go with the Saree. Here is how you can easily restyle your old skirt to a Saree Blouse with a DIY no sew trick.
Stylish Poncho Blouse from Skirt
Here I have wrapped the skirt cross body from back to front and tied up the belt behind leaving both ends loose to create huge bell sleeves effect of the skirt hemline. I have just wrapped my saree over it with the pallu draped in loose pleats from front to back.
There is no cut or stitch in the sleeves, giving it a poncho Blouse look. I am wearing a black off-shoulder tank underneath just to keep the skirt tied up in place. This is a great way to restyle your old wrap around skirt into a new Saree Blouse.
An updo and dark lips completes my DIY Poncho style Saree Blouse look! You can also reuse your old skirts in this way to create a unique saree Blouse. In case you are using a simple skirt, wear it below the arms like an off shoulder maxi and then cross tie the bottom towards your back in a simple knot. It will give you similar Poncho style look.
Halter Neck Blouse from Skirt
Another way to style the wrap around skirt into Saree Blouse is the halter-neck look. Here the skirt is to be wrapped around from back under the arms and tie the belt at back creating a halter-neck look.
I have tucked in the rest of the part of skirt under the petticoat. I have draped the Saree pallu from back to front and tied up in knot. A knot Saree drape essentially.
There are many ways to drape your wrap around skirt and these are two of them. The key is to know that whatever the drape style be, it has to gel with your saree drape. This is how you can restyle your skirt into a Saree Blouse and rock your cotton Saree.
