Its been quite a few time since I’ve posted about Restyling! Restyling has been one of my favorite thing to do with my wardrobe to replenish it with a new zing with minimum hole in my pocket and re-using the last bit of waste I can create;)…Its the best I can do to save my environment as an individual as well as a fashion blogger!
Well with the latest MoEF (Ministry of Environment and Forests Norms 2011) notification out and applied, Plastic bags are now sold at a price at all outlets in India, in order to instill the thought of recycling plastics into our regular day to day life.. This brings me back to my topic of recycling old clothes and re-using them back again…
Last week I visited my mom in baroda. In case you dont know her quite, she like every other mother of a daughter has a peculiar habit of storing and gathering all sorts of old clothes with the dream of giving them one day to her daughters when they grow up… which obviously never happens due to the ever-changing fashion and style. But this time the Theory went wrong..! Cause this weekend when I opened the closet of old clothes, my restylish brain got on to its best. I could find many things to gather from the bunch of old clothes to renew them and make a complete new outfit out of it.. I hurriedly selected few pieces of clothes to restyle them. I took one Old School Skirt of mine and My dad’s old shirt. and I created a frock out of it… This is how it looks..
I have made a rose out of the shirt and skirt material and put it at the waist. Since both the material were too small I utilized both of them to create a short dress.. with straps
I paired it up with leggings and shrug to give it a more sophisticated look..:) And It sure looks great.. after all best use of old clothes and saving of time and money. Restyling isnt a bad idea after all..
Take a better look on the cute rose.. I just loved it..M planning to put up a big bow at the Back.. lets hope I find a plain white material to go with it..:)
This Vibrant and colourfull Kurti sure may look as if purchased from some fabIndia or Biba sorta outlet, but it isnt! This fabulous Kurti with all its vibrant colour and floral pattern is prepared at home with old clothes.. Yes you heard it Right..!! The Floral print is one of my Mom’s old salwar kameez material (chicken material to be specific) and the Maroon is one of her shalwar material. The border is made up of the maroon material with multi-stiches taken on it to give it a colourfull pattern. Press buttons are put at the Centre in the Yolk. The sleeves have been given the Ballon style to bring a fresh touch to the authentic material.. I just loved this Restyle..! I am yet not finished with the buttons but was so eager to show you all that couldn’t wait…!
So gals what are you waiting for?? Get Restyling.. Search up your wardrobe and you’ll surely find an old pair of jeans or a old tshirt… Use some of my styling tips.. and get gorgeous..:)
