Sustainable fashion dairies – Restyling my owl print top in five different ways
With the environment getting in serious pollution impacts from the fashion industry, its high time we all shift focus to Sustainable fashion! Study says that Restyling, recycling and re-purposing your old outfits into new looks not only saves the environment or is budget friendly but it also keeps your creative mind at work, leaving you higher brain health probability in old age. Research says women who re-purpose their outfits (use creativity) can claim at longer healthier life! Now that’s a plus! That said, I have always believed in using one outfit in multiple ways or restyling my old clothes into new ones. In fact my husband will buy his clothes in pairs and always wear them that way, whereas I will buy one item at a time and pair it with atleast 6-7 items to create different looks. That not only saves my pocket but is a great outlet to my inner creativity and fashionista. So here I am today with another Winter/ monsoon 2018 capsule wardrobe where I have styled one quirky top in five different ways for different occasions.
The Flare Pants
Trust me, One of the hottest fashion trends of Winter 2018 is going to be flare pants/ denims. This is a great look for almost anything a formal setting or a brunch or a parent teacher meeting (Yup mommy blogger list includes that!) Here I have paired my quirky owl print top with black flare pant palazzos for an informal morning meeting. If you want make it more formal you can tuck the top in and add a solid broad belt to complete the sharp look.
Since this was an informal meeting post which I was supposed to attend one class, I prefer keeping it cool with reflector sunglasses and a denim backpack. If you want to channelize the flare bottoms look for work you can skip the sunglasses and use a sling back instead.
The Formal look
Why go for dull and boring formals? Work wear can be fun too, if you style it right. Pair your printed blouses with denim pants or trousers and finish your look with a solid colour blazer and you are ready to rock this Winters with pop of colour at work.
Here I have paired the same owl print top with denims and a Mustard Blazer for a Work look. I have completed my look with minimal makeup (basically coral orange lipstick), sleek hair, leopard print sling and spunky loafers.
I have tucked in the top from waist to give it a blouse kinda look. This very Blouse and Blazer can be paired with a solid mustard colour trousers to give you a pantsuit-but with a quirk look !
Indo-western Look
No look of mine is finished without a touch of desiness into it. I love outfits that can be worn both as Western and Semi-western and this quirky owl print top is one of them. All I need to do is, Quickly swap my western outfit into Indo-western or bohemian with a maxi skirt, boho fringe bag and statement earrings.
Beach/ Resort wear look
Funky tops or fun printed t-shirts can be a great assest to your wardrobe. Not only do they make your regular day to day looks more quirky but also they are great for a beach holiday or vaccation outfits. A cute printed top paired with your denim shorts or skater skirt and you are ready to rock that beach party!
Here is how I styled my beach party look with this owl print top. I completed my look with a fringe shrug, tassel earrings and a cute sling. One can also side knot this top and wear over a pleated skirt and throw on a leather jacket for a vaccay mood.
Casual Denim look
This one is the simplest easy to do go to look for day to day wear. Be it for the random meeting with fellow blogger or for that stroll in the mall, pairing a vibrant fun print top with ripped denims can go a long way.
These pics are taken from the selfie mode of camera hence the quality is not that great, but you get the point right?
This completes my five looks with one top and while I write this I am still thinking of restyling this top today in a different look. Do you have any more ideas how I can wear printed top in more than above mentioned ways? Do mention in the comments below.
More power to restyling and reusing outfits!
