Half Moon Manicure has become way popular these days, its easy to do, its trendy and looks good and the best part is that it can be removed easily.. Thus you can keep changing colours and varied combinations for each day of the week!!!
Choosing the Right Shades is the Key, it depends on your mood, outfit and occasion, however always try to use some quirky colours. Either one of the colours should be a tad-bit lighter than the other and Always keep in mind to use the lighter shade first!!
I Choose Hot Pink and Purple for my Moon Manicure as pink is my fav colour and Purple goes great with it 😉 Moreover it is those days of the year when peacock hue’s are eye-soothing 😉 So here is the Procedure:
Step 1: Double Coat your nails with the lighter shade that you want to keep on the base part (Moon part ) of your manicure. Here I have used a lovely shade of Hot Pink that I completely adore! Make sure it dries completely before you proceed ahead.
P.S: Make sure that your nails are Properly filed and mostly in Broader shape (Square, Oval, Semi circle). Avoid Pointier shapes for this manicure as it will not give the desired Moon look to your nails.
Step 2: Stick Guiding strips at the base of your nail bed such that a small half-moon area is left covered at the base of your nail-bed. Make sure to stick it as near to the base as possible and press the strip deeply on both sides such that no space is left for the next Colour to seep in.
Step 3: Apply double coat of the next nail paint that is Purple for me, leaving the strip in-tact. After you are sure that the paint has dried completely peel off the strips carefully.
Step 4: Top coat it with a transparent nail paint to give it a complete shine and finish. Scrub off the extra paint on the sides of you nails, if any. And you are ready to rock you half moon manicure…;)
