How to carry your pencil skirt from Day to Night – Formal to Party wear
If I could, I would personally go and hug the person who invented the Pencil skirt! How could I ever be on time anywhere without this marvelous fashion invention?? Okay that went a tad bit overboard! 😛 But you would readily agree with me, when I say that one statement Pencil skirt is a must-have wardrobe essential for any woman whether she be a workaholic or a party-goer or both just like most of us. (Okay I don’t mean to put women in brackets when I say this but what I essentially mean is that a pencil skirt is a requisite for Women of all kinds and ages.) Getting dressed up for the Day and reaching at work on time might seem an easy task (to maybe some of you…. not me! ) but when you have a party to attend the same night or better yet run for chores in evening, it can get a bit tricky to go from your Day outfit to the Night. Pencil skirt is one such fashion miracle that has made it much easier for all of us to transform from a sleek Day look into a gorgeous Night wear in a jiffy. That’s what I love about a pencil skirts; not only are they versatile for both day and night wear, but also look flattering on all body shapes including pregnant bellies 😉 Thus they have been my best friend during whole of my pregnancy and still are so wearable when I am half my pregnancy weight already (sigh!)
Basic Black Pencil Skirt
One basic Black pencil skirt is all you need for your Day to Night wear. I love plaid and so I paired mine with a Black and white plaid shirt. You can use any formal shirt or a colorful blouse with your black pencil skirt to make an amazing and comfy Formal wear for the Day. Add some pointed shoes and geeky glasses to rock this office wardrobe staple. I used this open toe stilettos and my favorite office Bag. One can also use a Long coat with this outfit and make it work for the Winters. There is so much that you can do with your black skirt that I am already thinking of a post about it. Well, for now we shall stick to the two looks Day and Night wear in this outfit.

Now to change your look from formal to Party wear is pretty easy. Throw in some glossy accessories, change your top or get a glitzy blazer on to convert this simple look into a party look for night. I have used a peplum Top, a statement belt & a gold clutch to take this look from formal to Party wear.

I added up the black stockings for two reasons better known to post partum moms…:P Keep me warm and hide my unwaxed legs…lol Well the outfit looks good this way so I decided to go with this one.
