Mumbai is full of surprises, atleast for me! The last time I was there, I met MissMalini (Yep, I forgot to mention it earlier!) And this time it was Tara Sharma at the SMW Mumbai Event. However both meetings were totally different, I got to learn a lot from both of them! Enough with the learning’s already! This time I am going to rave about my awesome Shopping haul I got from Mumbai! Yaay!! Warning: Those of you who are Brand lovers and would not bother buying from the streets, you may kindly discontinue reading!! 😛 This post is all about Shopping in a limited Budget!
Jewellery & Accessories haul from Mumbai – Budget Fashionista
I am totally a Budget Fashionista when it comes to shopping! I prefer thrift stores and street shops as compared to big brands. Not that I do not like brands, but come to think of it. How many of us can actually afford buying branded stuff all the time?? Not me! 😛 Thus Mumbai is a shopper’s paradise for me! I get everything I am crushing for in those funky corners of Colaba Causeway, Lokhandwala Street and Bandra Road Hill Road Market! I not only buy my western wear from Mumbai, but I also get awesome traditional materials from the Four Bungalows which I get designed by my local darzi. ( Psst.. I got myself some awesome ear-cuffs, arm candy beaded bracelet stacks, the all famous Ram Leela inspired Chaand Baalis, Statement neck-piece and round glares! Not to forget my circle geek clear glasses 😉 While all of this I got from the Colaba Causeway as a part of my shopping cheat sheet!
Shopping Haul – Budget Fashionista
No shopping is Complete without some awesome shoes!! And those nautical striped t-shirts are for the Winter which is right on the corner. No fall outfit is complete without some hooded & nautical striped full sleeved t-shirts! Trust me Colaba Cause-way is full of awesome stuff, but the trick is to know what to buy, check the quality of stuff you are buying and most importantly BARGAIN!! Yes, It is a no brainer that while you are Street shopping you gotta bargain. But bargaining in Mumbai has a different level al-together. Mumbai stalls & shops start with a price almost 5 times the original selling price. So If you want to know the actual rate at which they sell stuff, you gotta ask for 5 times less the price they offer! 😛
Nautical stripped Tee’s
I also saw some amazing crop’s at very cheap rates. There were some amazing printed crop top that were super comfy and surprisingly the materials were super awesome! I have got a few crop tops from leading brands online and trust me there is not much difference in the material quality. Not that the branded ones are not good, but these street ones are not at all bad to have in one’s wardrobe!
