Flare Denims at Cannes 2019 – Hottest Celebrity summer fashion trends recreated from my wardrobe
Cannes film festival 2019 was a dramatic one, for two reasons. Firstly it was Cannes (no brainer), secondly it felt like Indian fashionistas owned the red carpet this time! Indian Divas like Aishwarya, Priyanka, Deepika, Sonam, Kangana, Disha and even Hina Khan made appearences on the red carpet this year. However, I will not be talking about what they wore and who looked best, because frankly lots and lots is already written on the net about that. Today I will be recreating some easy to create celebrity inspired looks from Cannes 2019. Celebrity fashion inspiration is a tricky subject and I have seen bloggers go ahead and even buy the ditto outfit or makeup to create a celeb inspo. For me that totally dissolves the purpose.
Keeping Sustainable fashion and Restyling in mind, I feel celebrity fashion inspirations should be about creating similar looks from your existing wardrobe. It could be anything. Even a simple Denim pants and shirt look can make it to your Cannes fashion 2019 list if done right. So off late, denim flare pants have been totally in vogue and not that I vouch for picking up trends but I personally feel this is one iconic trend that’s gonna stay long. Also a bell bottoms pant can be reused and repurposed in many ways. Which is why I have picked a few Cannes fashion 2019 looks of our celebrities that have Flared Denims in them! Kangana Ranaut’s Embellished blazer and flare pants at Cannes recreated!
Ever since Kangana ranaut has made her spectacular debut at Cannes 2018, her eccentric style has always stunned me. I have mentally worn and recreated all her looks ever! So its no doubt that when I decided to recreate Cannes fashion looks 2019, Kangana was the first on my radar. Fortunately she wore a pant suit with flare bottoms that caught my eye!
Here I did not have any embellished Blazer nor did I have a black bell bottoms, but the point here is to get inspired and so I put togather this Kanagana ranaut cannes 2019 inspired look by doing a DIY embellished jacket.
I had this old Black jacket with puffed up sleeves and few broken golden colour chunky accessories. I used one of my broken neck-piece at one corner of the blazer and the leaf ear cuffs on the other shoulder securing them with safety pins to create this embellished blazer look.
I wore a yellow crop camisole inside because thats the only camisole I have in cropped style. I completed the look with the most important piece of my capsule wardrobe.
My summer fashion essential flared Denims! The Denims are Blue but I guess it goes well with the complete look.
The toughest part of my Kangana ranaut’s Cannes 2019 style inspiration was the smokey eye makeup. I have a wheatish complexion and super deep under eye circles. Making a smokey eye look was challenging, But I thought to give it a try. Not that it was anywhere near perfect but I really liked the outcome of my first attempt at Kangana’s Cannes 2019 makeup.
I did the winged eyeliner, smokey eye makeup with nude lip stick and no accessories look. This completes my Kangana ranaut cannes 2019 celebrity inspired look!
Selena Gomez Cannes 2019 Denim over Denim look!
While I was scrolling for Celebrities that wore flare denims to Cannes 2019, I came across stunning Selena Gomez doing a chic look in Denim jacket and Denim bell bottoms. I couldn’t help but recreate Selena Gomez iconic cannes look with my wardrobe.
I had this Denim jacket with big buttons sitting in my wardrobe since 2009. I had bought this from one of my thrift shopping sprees in Mumbai. It seemed a perfect fit for this look.
For both these looks I went out of my comfort zone since Middle parting or sleek hair is not my thing. But I had to experiment and that I did. Taking cue from Selena Gomez Cannes 2019 look, I completed the look with middle hair parting and hoop earrings.

Sonam Kapoor’s Cannes 2019 Airport Look!
Sonam kapoor has always been my favourite celebrity to look up to for the Cannes film festival. Her Cannes fashion game is always experimental and dramatic. This year however I could not spot too much drama in her Cannes 2019 fashion looks but I did like what she wore to the airport when leaving for Cannes.
Here is what she wore while heading to the Cannes 2019. A Blazer with Red belted top inside, Blue pants and a sleek belt around the Blazer. I tried to recreate her Blazer with Pants and belted top look in my own way with a Trench coat instead.
I bought this trecnch coat from Romwe long back under some discounted coupons. I used my floral front tie Top underneath and kept the ties loose. I completed the look with my Summer fashion essential bell bottom denims and a sleek belt around my Trench coat.
This look is by far my best Cannes 2019 Celebrity fashion inspirations. Not because it completely matches Sonam’s outfit but because there is so much going on and I managed to create a similarity between both the looks!
Kangana’s Cannes 2019 Airport Look!
While Sonam Kapoors Airport look was totally experimental with summery layering, Kangana’s was an easy breezy one. This is what Kangana wore to the Airport while heading for Cannes 2019.
If there is any Cannes 2019 Celebrity inspired look that I think I totally nailed, that’s this one! Kangana wore a flare denim pants and a Blue formal shirt with lacy tie-up white sandals to the Airport. She completed her Cannes 2019 fashion look with a cross body shoulder bag.
I paired my flare denims with a similar formal shirt and took one of my broad belted bags to create a similar look as Kangana’s Cannes 2019 look. I completed my look with a pair of white strappy sandals.
I am happy I did a round up of Bell bottoms trend at Cannes 2019, it turns out these flare pants are really a thing with the Cannes Celebrity fashion scene.
Lavender and Lilac at Cannes 2019!
Not only did our Indian Celebs ace at the fashion front at Cannes 2019. They were seen making new trends. One of them was Lavender and Lilac.
Officially lavender was the colour trend of Cannes 2019. Many celebrities including Priyanka chopra and Hina Khan wore Lavender coloured solid dresses with self print or embroidery. The colour looked so pretty and brought a casual summery vibe to the formal event.
Actress Hina Khan also wore another shade in this group, a lilac pantsuit. I totally love this colour and this was my time to wear my favourite lilac top with this bell denims.
Here is my version of the hottest colour trend of Cannes 2019. A lilac Top with blue denims and white Sandals. Best for a summer look and yet quite elegant for a formal event. If I ever go to cannes, I think this is what I would wear at the day time photoshoots! 😀
