“House of Tuhina” is a designer brand that has its roots deep into traditional Indian art & handicrafts which brings out collection that is very close to Indian sensibilities, yet has a modern take to it. What is more adorable about this brand is that they employ Women from different rural clusters and not only teach them their art but also engage these artisans to create an eco- friendly collection. Their latest collection, Bagru Banjara is a beautiful simplistic version of the Rajasthani Banjaran potryaing the soul of an Indian women through hand block printed khadi Tunics that can be paired beautifully with skirts, ghagras and leggings.

Everything from their collection right from the material to the stitch & embellishments is hand crafted giving a unique touch to each of their outfits & jewellery. This beautiful tunic has bell shaped sleeves and an elaborate gathered bottom that swirls along as you stride your way to happiness. The outfit is not only beautiful but super comfortable and I love the unique chicken shaped block print it has on the top part. The cut and fitting is totally flattering for Indian silhouettes.

I always love to sport Indian outfits as I love to get decked up, and if it is some festival, its all the more reason to get decked up. My Diwali festivities are never complete without wearing a beautiful Saree and donning some bright make up, however this time I am thinking more of comfort and going easy on make up as I am still recovering from my stitches and wouldn’t want to wear something that would tire me at the end of the day. An elaborate anarkali dress is my best bet for this Diwali and I am happy that I have already got one that’s super comfy and chic. Also Its flattering cut & fitting looks great on my post-partum figure.

Indian Desi Outfit

Keeping the simplicity of the dress intact, I have styled this outfit with some colorful ethnic pompoms in hair, leather chappals and a lavie bag! I have used minimal make-up which includes a maybeline compact, chambor black eye-liner and fatal red maybeline lipstick. A beautiful red bindi & a broad smile completes my look 😀

Since my delivery I have been struggling with my thinning hair that fall lifelessly around my shoulders thus I opted for this beautiful fishtail plait that gives volume to my limp hair. I have been cribbing about my hair whose straightening effect has been fading away and I have to deal with my curls as I can not straighten them back until I am breast feeding. But while styling my hair today those natural curls fell off on my face giving it a completely different look. I am not sure I love the look but I like this change from the straight hair.

OOTD – Traditional hand block printed tunic

This is one of my best shots of the shoot as it beautifully accentuates the ghagra like gathers of the tunic and reminds me of my chaniya cholis of Navratri. With a little styling and a beautiful duppata I think I can easily convert this tunic into a navratri outfit with a twist..:)

I am totally looking forward to don this beautiful outfit on this Diwali and spread millions of smiles that shall enlighten those many houses whose women are empowered by this single dress.
