One look at the up-coming movie “Student of the Year” poster’s and one can’t miss Alia Bhatt’s refined look of arrogant and fashionable chic. But what interested me more is the striking resemblance between the lead Alia’s Bhatt’s Look in the movie and Leighton Meester’s role of Blair Waldorf in popular Teen T.V Series “Gossip-girl” based on the Novel of the same name.
For those wondering, Blair Cornelia Waldorf is a main character of the TV series “Gossip Girl” who is known for winning men with her beauty, money and charm in her social circle, She is known as Queen-B in her social circle for her numerous affairs as well as her snobbish and sensitive character.
Coming back to the point of discussion, fashion mongers have observed this striking resemblance between the fashion sense and portrayal of these two characters, which makes us think that KJo has taken a tip or two from the famous character of Blair from Gossip girl to sketch out Alia’s new avtar for her debut film.
The high-society Private School Uniform
1.) Uniform: The first common feature between the two being the high-society private school education and an equally grand and “sophisticated to the T” Uniform. The school Emblem also matches!! 😛

Arrogant Smirk: If you closely observe Blair’s character, it is distinguished with the Arrogant and sassy attitude, this characteristic smirk and attitude oozes our of the character portrayed by Alia. Similar Dressing style and inspired fashion can be seen in the released teaser as well as posters.

3.) Head-bands: Every girl who stays tuned to this series knows Blair is distinguished by her Head-band’s. Even Alia has spotted wearing Head-bands almost in all the pictures. A very characteristic dance between the lead-pair also reminds me of the similar pose in Gossip Girl. The styling choices reflected a growing blend of international influences and Bollywood fashion inspiration.
